Under Armour announces the return of UA Combine for the third year running empowering athletes with a series of intense challenges that will push them to their limits. As one of the region’s largest fitness competitions, UA Combine is slated to take place on Saturday, 26th of October 2024.
There, athletes from all walks of life will put their physical abilities to the test as Under Armour reinforces its commitment to establishing the ultimate athlete performance benchmark.
Participants are encouraged to be the strongest version of themselves through a series of eight physical challenges, including tests of agility, stamina, vertical, power, endurance, strength, speed, and cognition.
The 8 tests will focus on:
AGILITY: Illinois Test
STAMINA: Pull-up Beep Test
VERTICAL: Vertical Jump Test
POWER: 20m Sled Push
ENDURANCE: 20m Beep Test
STRENGTH: 3RM Bench Press
SPEED: 40 Yard Dash
COGNITION: Reactive Intelligence Wall
The competition follows a fixed sequence format, where athletes complete eight tests in order. Participants are grouped into waves of at least 20 of the same gender, with check-in times provided in advance.
Each wave will spend 100 minutes in the competition space, including a 30-minute briefing and warm-up, followed by 60 minutes to complete the tests. The tests are divided into three zones, with 20 minutes per zone.
Athletes earn points for each test, and rankings will determine medal winners. Cash prizes of RM15,000, RM7,500, and RM3,000 will be awarded to the top three male and female competitors.
Participants can also form teams of four, combining individual scores for a team score, with the top team winning RM6,000 worth of Under Armour gear. To support competitors, Under Armour is offering exclusive training sessions in collaboration with gyms like Celebrity Fitness, DEFY Training, O-zone Fitness, and F45.
Registration is open for those aged 18 and above, with an RM400 fee that includes full Under Armour gear and access to training programs. Spectators can also join for free. More details are available at https://uacombineasia.com/.
