At first glance, you might mistake them for reflections of one another – the same stride, the same focus, the same quiet fire in their eyes.

But on race day, Hazarullah Safri and Syahrullah Safri are not competing against each other. They’re running their own distances, their own challenges, yet always side by side in spirit.

At the Kabong International Beach Trail Marathon 2025, the twin brothers carved their names into the sand and into memory.

For the brothers, running wasn’t just about the distance — it was about discipline, connection, and brotherhood.

Hazarullah blazed through the 6km category in 22:26.

Hazarullah blazed through the 6km category in 22:26, surging ahead with the energy and precision of a sprinter who knows every heartbeat counts.

Even the short route can humble you.

“I joined the 6KM category today,” said Hazarullah, still catching his breath after finishing first place.

“Even though it’s a shorter category, the route was really challenging. The first two kilometers were on the beach, soft sand, heavy wind, then the last four kilometers took us straight into the jungle.”

“The trail was slippery because it rained last night, so even 6KM felt tough. But that’s the beauty of it, that’s what makes you push yourself.”

This was his third time joining a trail race, and each time, he said, taught him something new.

“I’m not really a trail runner,” he said with a grin. “I usually focus on marathons, so running on the beach and in the jungle was something new for me.”

“If I get the chance, I’ll definitely join again. I hope this event continues every year. Kabong has the perfect setting, the beach, the forest. It’s really special.”

Syahrullah, conquered the 12km race in 50:21.

His elder brother, Syahrullah, conquered the 12km race in 50:21, where endurance met willpower across dunes, heat, and wind.

“Alhamdulillah, today I finished first in the 12KM category. The route was really challenging, we had to run on the beach and then straight into the forest.”

“The toughest part was definitely inside the jungle. There was a lot of standing water and mud, so every step felt heavy. You had to watch your footing, and it really drained your energy.” He smiled and replied modestly.

Beach trail and jungle trail – very different worlds.

When asked about the difference between the two terrains, he thought for a moment before replying:

“They’re completely different. This was actually my first time joining a trail race, and I’d say running on the beach is a little easier.”

You can still maintain your pace, but once you enter the forest, it’s a different game. There are tree roots everywhere, soft ground, and water holes. You have to slow down and be careful, because one mistake could lead to an injury.” He chuckled softly.

Running together, even apart.

Though they ran different routes, their journeys mirrored one another – a quiet, disciplined pursuit of purpose. They didn’t compete against each other; they pushed for each other.

“He took 6KM, I took 12KM,” said Syahrullah. “Different paths, but same goal to give our best.”

“We always check in after races,” added Hazarullah. “If one of us runs alone, we still run together, in spirit.”

They laughed at the thought – twin victories born from shared struggle.

“Different paths, but same goal to give our best.” – Syarullah

Their journey mirrors the essence of KAHF – a brand built on faith and authenticity, for men who find strength not in noise, but in quiet perseverance.

Like KAHF, the brothers reflect a quieter kind of strength – calm, grounded, and driven by values that run deeper than victory.

When the trail softened and the wind pushed back, they didn’t run for medals. They ran for each other. For brotherhood. For the path they chose – #JalanYangKuPilih.
