35-year-old Muhaizar Mohamad is not only an army commando from the Sungai Udang camp in Melaka, but also a dedicated, competitive marathon runner who ended Malaysia’s 44-year marathon drought back in 2017.

During the 2017 SEA Games, Muhaizar managed to win a bronze medal in marathon. In 2018, the elite runner achieved his personal best of 2:26.21 at the Berlin Marathon in 2018.

In Malaysian running community, he is well known for being recognized as the fastest Malaysian marathon runner. Not surprisingly, he is the holder of KL Standard Chartered Marathon Winner for 5 consecutive years (2014 – 2019).

During the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, Muhaizar proudly clinched another bronze medal in his forte, marathon. We have always been wondering what it takes to be a humble marathon champion, like the well built athlete.
