ASICS has unveiled the latest addition to its popular bounce category: the NOVABLAST™ 5 running shoe. This highly anticipated update to the NOVABLAST™ line offers a fresh and energizing running experience, thanks to a blend of lightweight materials and the brand’s innovative new midsole foam.
Staying true to the ASICS Design Philosophy, which focuses on continuous improvement with every new release, the NOVABLAST™ 5 features significant updates to the midsole foam, upper, tongue tooling, and overall design elements.
Building on the success of the GLIDERIDE™ MAX shoe introduced last year, the NOVABLAST™ 5 now features FF BLAST™ MAX foam cushioning. This innovation boosts the shoe’s bounce properties by approximately 8.5% compared to its predecessor. The NOVABLAST™ 5 is the only shoe in the ASICS lineup to incorporate a full FF BLAST™ MAX technology midsole.
The upper of the NOVABLAST™ 5 has also been redesigned for enhanced comfort, now featuring an Engineered Jacquard mesh that offers improved breathability over the previous model’s woven upper. Drawing inspiration from the SUPERBLAST™ line, the tongue construction of the NOVABLAST™ 5 mirrors the gusseted wing design, ensuring a secure fit and boosting confidence during every workout.
The NOVABLAST™ 5 retains its signature geometric midsole design, a distinctive feature since its debut five years ago. The design lines are crafted to create the illusion of dimensional warp, adding a dynamic visual element as the runner or walker moves through their stride.
Building upon its predecessor’s energetic, bouncy, and comfortable ride, the midsole and outsole of the NOVABLAST™ 5 feature key enhancements. A pod-like groove in the forefoot improves the springy sensation, allowing runners to feel more propelled with each step.
Retailing at RM 599, the NOVABLAST™ 5 will be available at all ASICS stores and on ASICS.com starting from 10 January 2025.
