Malaysian medalists at the 2022 Asian Games and Asian Para Games in Hangzhou will receive Huawei smartwatches as recognition for their achievements.
These smartwatches were presented to the Youth and Sports Minister, YB Hannah Yeoh, during the Malaysian Contingent’s Flag Handing Ceremony at the National Sports Council’s Banquet Hall, attended by Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, the spouse of Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and MP for Bandar Tun Razak.
Huawei Malaysia sponsors the Huawei Smart Watch, which will be awarded to each medal winner. The smartwatch, with advanced health and fitness features, marks a decade-long journey by the global ICT leader and is set for a global launch in Barcelona, Spain, on September 14.
Malaysia’s representation at the Asian Games, taking place from September 23 to October 8, consists of 289 athletes and 145 officials, competing in 22 sports across 141 events. Dato’ Chong Kim Fatt, president of the Malaysian Wushu Federation, serves as the Chef de Mission (CDM) leading this contingent.
Simultaneously, at the Asian Para Games, scheduled from October 22 to 28, the national contingent, led by K.M. Rajendran, the current Vice President of Taekwondo Malaysia, comprises 115 para-athletes and 43 officials participating in 14 sports encompassing 105 events.
