The oldest cycling race in Asia, the 54th Jelajah Malaysia (JM54) which was scheduled to start on 26 February to 2 March 2023, has been postponed to a new date which will start on 28 May till 30 May 2023. The number of race stages will also be reduced from 5 race stages to 3 race stages.

The postponement of the 54th Jelajah Malaysia was taken after discussion and approval from the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (PKBM). The new date was also decided after receiving advice from PKBM and Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

The UCI Asia Tour 2.2 status race this time will see 24 competing teams, with 16 UCI Continental teams running alongside the Malaysian and Saudi Arabian national teams, the Nice club from Switzerland and five local teams.

The new race routes are:

28 May 2023, Stage 1 – Shah Alam, Selangor – Teluk Intan, Perak (154.3KM)

29 May 2023, Stage 2 – Bagan Datuk, Perak – Tanah Rata, Cameron Highland, Pahang (139.7KM)

30 May 2023, Stage 3 – Tapah, Perak – Meru Raya, Perak (123.2KM)
