More than 40,000 runners gathered at Dataran Merdeka for the 15th edition of KLSCM.
It was the first time the event held the prestigious Road Race Label status from World Athletics, a unique distinction in Malaysia’s running scene.
The Full Marathon Malaysian Men’s category was a highly anticipated and fiercely contested competition. Defending champion Poo Vasanthan reaffirmed his status with a remarkable victory, fending off five-time KLSCM champion Muhaizar Mohamad. Poo Vasanthan retained his title with a time of 02:37:38, with Nik Fakaruddin in second at 02:37:43, and Leo Tan finishing third at 02:37:56.
In the Full Marathon Malaysian Women’s category, Michelle Chua Khit Yeng improved from her third-place finish last year to secure victory with a time of 03:13:07. Defending champion Noor Amelia Musa finished second with a time of 03:14:41, and Chew Jia Qi took third place, crossing the finish line in 03:22:50.
