The first-ever Lazada Run in Malaysia witnessed an energetic and united atmosphere as 8,000 Malaysians from diverse backgrounds passionately took on their selected race distances of 5km, 10km, and 21km.

Held in Cyberjaya, the Lazada Run Malaysia commenced with the 21km race kick-starting at 5.00am. Participants of the 10km and 5km races enjoyed an energetic Zumba warm-up session before starting their runs at 6.45am and 7.15am, respectively.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Hannah Yeoh, had the honour of flagging off a special 1km route. The route witnessed the inspiring participation of 40 para-athletes, representing the physical, visual, and intellectual disability categories in Paralympic Sports.

Lazada Malaysia CEO, Alan Chan, presented an RM50,000 in-kind donation to the President of the Paralympic Council of Malaysia (PCM), Dato’ Sri Megat D. Shahriman, witnessed by YB Hannah Yeoh. The contribution supports PCM’s TambahEMAS initiative, training para-athletes for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and organizing outreach programs for the disabled community.

Malaysia’s Poo Vasanthan Subramaniam, Nik Fakaruddin Ismail, Noor Amelia Musa, and Lee Shi Fing, who secured first and second place in the 21km race, along with Mohamad Shahrin Che Abdullah and Chua Khit Yeng, the first place winners of the 10km race, will represent the country in Singapore.

Lazada Run, a unique regional running event organized by an eCommerce platform, spans six Southeast Asian cities: Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Bangkok, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. The race has already concluded in five cities, and the winners from each city will be flown to Singapore for the final event, which will take place on July 23, 2023. This grand finale will bring together the champions from various cities to compete for the ultimate victory.
