adidas Running reveals a new colorway for the latest addition to the iconic Ultraboost franchise. Having initially launched in December 2021 in mauve, the Ultraboost 22 is now available in an energized new colorway, inspired by summer escapism.
Created by an all-women team, the adidas Ultraboost 22 provides runners with 4% more forefront energy return than the Ultraboost 21 for women. Tapping into women-specific insights and using an online anatomy database of 1.2 million foot scans, conducted and analysed by footwear and technology researchers Jura, Žabkar & Džerosk, the Ultraboost 22 is tailored to create a 360-degree fit improvement for the female foot.
The launch of the latest Ultraboost 22 colorway will also see adidas Running take its commitment to the female running community to the next level. Retailing at RM799, adidas Ultraboost 22 is available online via the adidas app and at adidas.com.my, as well as at retail stores including adidas Brand Center Pavilion KL, adidas Brand Center Sunway Pyramiad and adidas Sneaker Collect KLCC.
Collaborating with White Ribbon, a global charity leading the conversation on the issue of male violence against women, and human rights advocate and author Amanda Sussman, adidas will co-create an education program that aims to make a meaningful difference to women’s safety whilst running.
Despite more and more women seeking to explore possibilities through running in recent months, concerns about their safety remain top of mind. For years, women were told that in order to stay safe, they shouldn’t run alone in the dark or should wear reflective clothing. Yet, telling women how to behave only shifts the responsibility for harassment and sexual violence back onto them.
That is why adidas aims to tackle the issue of male violence against women at its root – combining the expertise of White Ribbon and Amanda Sussman to co-create a program that aims to educate and drive meaningful impact on a global scale. Kicking off this ambitious mission, 250+ adidas Runners coaches and captains from 71 cities worldwide have been provided an educational playbook created by adidas, White Ribbon and Amanda Sussman.
The playbook aims to create a safer running environment for female athletes around the world by detailing in-depth allyship tools and action steps to help communities better understand and recognize issues. It will also encourage men and boys to reflect on their behavior and take accountability to make sure everyone is safe to run the way they want.
“The launch of this program sees us take our commitment to our female running community to the next level. To drive impact and create meaningful change, we knew we had to focus on educating the next generation about this growing issue. Thanks to the expertise of White Ribbon and Amanda, we believe we have created something that can truly help make a lasting change to women’s safety whilst running,” said Rebecca Gough, Senior Manager adidas Running Communities.
Humberto Carolo, Executive Director of White Ribbon said: “Our mission is to end all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination, once and for all. We want all men to fulfil the White Ribbon pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about men’s violence against women, but we can’t do this alone. Through this collaboration with adidas and Amanda we will reach and educate more people, especially men and boys, to change their behavior, and become strong allies in creating a safer, inclusive and violence-free future for everyone.”
